Introduction of Hazardous Substance Process Management refers to the RoHS regulations:

SMC has continually proposed a number of requirements for “Hazardous Substance Process Management” (HSPM) and we much appreciate the great support received from our vendors so far.制。

In order to unify the requirements and suit the developing trend of green products in the marketplace and world, it is necessary for SMC to implement HSPM for the environment-related substances to be controlled (Please refer to the table below). This technical standard is the rule for SMC procurement. From now on, all parts, and materials…etc will be purchased according to this standard. SMC will purchase with priority from vendors who are qualified for this standard. Vendors who could not reach this technical standard will be limited to procurement.

The latest standard will be applied once there is updated version. If international law and enactment request any, the legal requirement is the principle. SMC will revise the standard and subsequently make announcement.
